A miniaturised Kryptonian city.
Description[]
Kandor is the former capital city of the planet Krypton that has been removed by Brainiac after shrinking it into a bottle along with its inhabitants. Initially, he holds it in his spaceship with other bottled cities until they are all rescued by the Justice League. Subsequently, Kandor is seen in the possession of Superman in the Fortress of Solitude when Brainiac attempts and fails to recover it.
Seen from the outside, the tiny city just looks like a small, orange-colored heap that Plastic Man likens to gravlax (sliced salmon). Inside the bottle, from the point of view of the tiny inhabitants, is a futuristic cityscape of roads, buildings and open spaces which is illuminated by artificial red sunlight.
There, headband-wearing Kryptonians enjoy red skies and wide vistas and show much civic enthusiasm.
Their leader is Chancellor Al-On. Superman is able to meet him for the first time when he is miniaturised and enters the bottle as part of Atom's plan to restore the city to full size. Superman has no powers when he is there.
